3: End-user Productivity |
Windows Intune and Windows 7 improve
end-user productivity by reducing the time that users do not have access to
applications (downtime due to outages and help desk issues). With older
operating systems, considerable time is lost in user self-support activities
(e.g. reboots to solve a problem). Downtime, impact of spyware and malware,
software updates also add to the lost productive hours. However, Windows Intune
and Windows 7 improve on these tasks and benefits end-users by reducing downtime
and the burden of servicing outdated products. This reduction in downtime leads
to additional productive hours, which would otherwise be wasted. New
productivity features of Windows 7 (such as improved sleep/hibernate recovery,
taskbar thumbnails, preview panes, better diagnostics, problem step recorder,
IE9, etc.) also add to the time savings. |
